    ٥٢٥٢- عبد شمس بن الحارث بن كثير بن جشم بن سبع بن مالك بن ذبيان «٣» بن ثعلبة بن البطين الأعرج الغامدي، أبو ظبيان، بالمعجمة، معروف بكنيته. قال ابن الكلبيّ والطّبريّ: وفد على النبيّ ﷺ، وكتب له كتابا، وهو صاحب راية غامد يوم القادسية، وهو القائل: أنا أبو ظبيان غير المكذبة ... أبي أبو العنقا وخالي المهلبة أكرم من يعلم بين ثعلبة [الرجز] قلت: وأنا أستبعد أيضا أن يكون النبيّ ﷺ لم يغير اسمه، وقد أشرت إلى ذلك في العبادلة.
