    ٢٤٩٣ ز- ذؤيب بن حبيب: بن تويت، بمثناتين مصغّرا، ابن أسد بن عبد العزي القرشي الأسدي. ذكره عمر بن شبّة في أخبار المدينة عن أبي غسّان المدني، قال: اتخذ ذؤيب بن حبيب دارا بالمصلّى مما يلي السّوق، وهي بأيدي ولده اليوم، [وساق نسبه، قال: وكانت له صحبة بالنبيّ ﵌] «٣» .

    ٢٥١٤ ز- ذؤيب بن مرار. له إدراك، فروى ابن دريد عن السكن بن سعيد، عن هشام بن الكلبيّ، عن أبي الهيثم الرحبيّ شيخ من حمير: حدّثني شيخان ممن أدرك حماما، وسمع حديثه من فلق فيه، وهما ذؤيب بن مرار، والأرقم بن أبي الأرقم، قالا: أخبرنا حمام بن معديكرب الكلاعيّ أحد فرسان الجاهليّة.. فذكر قصّة طويلة.

    ٢٥١٥ ز- ذؤيب بن يزيد: أو ابن زيد. ذكره أبو حاتم السجستاني في المعمرين، وقال: عاش أربعمائة وخمسين سنة، ثم أدرك الإسلام فأسلم بعد أن هرم، وهو القائل: اليوم يبنى لذؤيب بيته ... لو كان للدّهر بلى أبليته أو كان قرنا واحدا كفيته ... يا ربّ نهب صالح حويته ومعصم مخضّب ثنيته «٣» [الرجز] الأبيات.
