    ١٦٢٠ ز- الحجاج بن الحارث «١» : بن قيس بن عدي بن سهم القرشي السهمي، أخو السائب وعبد اللَّه وأبي قيس وابن عم عبد اللَّه بن حذافة. ذكره موسى بن عقبة وابن إسحاق وغيرهم فيمن هاجر إلى الحبشة وقالوا كلهم: استشهد بأجنادين إلا ابن سعد وسيف فقالا: قتل باليرموك سنة خمس عشرة. وأنكر ابن الكلبيّ هجرته إلى الحبشة، وقال: لم يسلم إلا بعد ذلك. وكذا قال: الزبير بن بكار إنه أسر يوم بدر فأسلم بعد ذلك.
