    أسعد بن عابدين أسعد بن عابدين الشهير بابن كوله بضم الكاف واللام الدمشقي الشافعي الشيخ الصالح الدين الصوفي كان يتكلم بعلوم الحقائق ويظهر من مكنوناتها الخفايا والرقائق صحب لاستاذ الشيخ عبد الغني النابلسي مدة تزيد على أربعين سنة وتقل له الاستاذ بفمه وبارك عليه ووضع يده الشريفة على صدره وصار بعد ذلك يتكلم في الحقائق ويملي من علوم القوم الرقائق مع أنه كان أميالاً يقرا ولا يكتب ومع ذلك يقضي منه بالعجب في معرفته لغامضات علوم العارفين وكأنت وفاته بدمشق سنة أربع وتسعين ومائة وألف ودفن بتربة مرج الدحداح رحمه الله تعالى.
