١٦٠ - أحمد بن سنان بن أسد بن حبان أبو جعفر القطان الواسطي جمع المسند سمع من يزيد بن هارون وعفان بن مسلم ويعقوب بن محمد الزهري ووهب بن جرير ويحيى بن سعيد القطان في جماعة آخرين حدث عنه علي بن عبد الله بن مبشر بمسنده وقد روى عنه البخاري ومسلم وأبوداود والنسائي وغيرهم قرأت على أبي الوحش عبد الرحمن بن أبي منصور بن نسيم بدمشق في الرحلة الثانية قال أنبأ أبو القاسم علي بن الحسن بن هبة الله ابن عساكر الحافظ قال أحمد بن سنان بن أسد أبو جعفر الواسطي القطان مات سنة ست ويقال سنة ثمان ويقال سنة تسع وخمسين ومائتين.
