٢٨ - محمد بن أحمد بن عبيد الله أبو سهل الحفصي المروزي. قال عبد الغافر بن إسماعيل بن عبد الغافر بن محمد الفارسي في ذيل تاريح نيسابور هو شيخ سليم النفس والجانب مستور قدم نيسابور ظهر له سماع الصحيح عن الكشميهني بمرو وهو آخر من رواه عنه فيما أظنه فسمع منه المشايخ بمرو وحمل إلى نيسابور وقرئ عليه الصحيح في المدرسة النظامية وأكرمه نظام الملك ولما فرغ منه رده مكرما إلى مرو وكان من جملة العوام إلا أنه كان صحيح السماع. وقال أبو سعيد السمعاني في كتاب الأنساب توفي سنة ست وستين وأربعمائة.
