مَعْبَد بن عَلْقَمَة (٠٠٠ - نحو ٧٠ هـ = ٠٠٠ - نحو ٦٩٠ م) معبد بن علقمة المازني: شاعر، من الشجعان. يقال له (ابن أخضر) وأخضر زوج أمه، نسب إليه هو وأخ له اسمه (عباد) . له مواقف وأشعار في حرب الخوارج. وكان عبيد الله بن زياد، انتدب أخاه عبادا لقتالهم، فحاربهم وقتلوه (نحو سنة ٦٠ هـ وأخذ معبد بثأره وقال: (سأحمي دماء الأخضريين، إنه ... أبي الناس إلّا أن يقولوا: ابن أخضرا) وهو صاحب (الحماسية) التي يقول فيها:(وتجهل أيدينا، ويحلم رأينا، ونشتم بالأفعال، لا بالتكلم) (١) .
