١٠٣٩- (٢) وعمرو بن قيس بن ثور بن مازن بن خيثمة السكوني أبو ثور من أهل حمص سمع عبد الله بن عمر وابن العباس وأبا الطفيل عمرو بن واثلة روى عنه الأوزاعي ومعاوية بن صالح وغيرهما وذكر الواقدي أنه مات سنة خمس وعشرين ومائة. (١١٦٧) أخبرني أبو الفتح محمد بن أحمد بن أبي الفوارس الحافظ حدثنا محمد بن المظفر الحافظ حدثنا محمد بن محمد بنسليمان بن عبد الوهاب بن الضحاك حدثنا إسماعيل بن عياش عن عمرو بن قيس السكوني عن عامر بن واثلة عن حذيفة بن اليمان قال سمعت النبي ﷺ يقول خير ماء على وجه الأرض ماء زمزم وشر ماء على وجه الأرض ماء عين برهوت عين باليمن ترد عليها بهائم الكفار بالليل.
