    [٣٧١] محَمَّد بن أحْمَد بن سليمان، أبو الفضل، ابن القوّاس، البَغْدَادي حدَّث عن: أحْمَد بن موسى الشطوي، وإسحاق بن سُنين الختلي. وعنه: أبو الحسن الدَّارقُطْنِي، وأبو الفتح بن مسرور البلخي. قال أبو الفتح بن مسرور: كان ثقة. وقال الخَطِيب: كان ينزل بالجانب الشرقي بين القصرين. مات ببَغْدَاد في أول سَنَة خمس وثلاثين وثلاثمائة. قلت: [صدوق] وهذا أحوط، لقلة اشتهار ابن مسرور في هذا الفن، ولو قيل: ثقة فهو محتمل. تَارِيخ بَغْدَاد (١/ ٣٠٦)، المنتَظِم (١٤/ ٦١)، تَارِيخ الإِسْلَام (٢٥/ ١٢٨).
