    ٢٨٢٩ - عبيد الله بن كعب بن مالك بن أبي القبر: أبو فضالة الأنصاري، السلمي، المدني، عداده في أهلها، ذكره مسلم في ثالثة تابعي المدنيين، وهو أخو سعيد وعبد الرحمن ومعبد، يروي عن أبيه، وعنه أخوه معبد وابن أخيه عبد الرحمن بن عبد الله كعب، والزهري، وقد سمع عثمان بن عفان، قاله ابن حبان في ثانية ثقاته، ويروي عنه أيضا: أخوه معبد وابن أخيه عبد الرحمن، أعلم قومه، وأوعاهم لأحاديث الصحابة، وله عند أبي يعلى في مسنده حديث أرسله، فذكره لذلك الذهبي في تجريد الصحابة، وهو وهم، أفاده شيخنا، وهو في التهذيب ورابع الإصابة.
