٢٤١٧ - عبد الرحمن بن حميد بن عبد الرحمن بن عوف: القرشي الزهري المدني أحد العلماء الثقات، يروي عن أبيه والسائب بن يزيد وسعيد بن المسيب، وعنه: صالح بن كيسان وسليمان بن بلال وحاتم بن إسماعيل والسفيانان والدراوردي ويحيى القطان وآخرون، قال ابن معين: ليس به بأس، ووثقه أبو حاتم وأبو داود، ووثقه ابن سعد وزاد: له أحاديث، وكذلك وثقه العجلي وزاد: كوفي، وذكره ابن حبان في الثقات. وقال: مات بالعراق أول ولاية أبي جعفر سنة سبع وثلاثين ومائة.
