١٦٣٩ - سليمان بن علي بن عبد الله بن عباس بن عبد المطلب: أبو أيوب وقيل أبو محمد، الهاشمي المدني البصري عم المنصور ووالد إسحاق الماضي. وروى عن: أبيه وأبي بردة بن أبي موسى وعكرمة. وعنه: بنوه جعفر ومحمد وزينب، وابن أخيه عبد الملك بن صالح بن علي والأصمعي وآخرون. ذكره ابن حبان في الثقات، وقال ابن عساكر: كان كريما جوادا وبلغني أنه كان مقدما عند السفاح والمنصور، وولي البصرة والأهواز والبحرين. وقال ابن القطان: هو مع شرفه في قومه لا يعرف حاله في الحديث. قال محمد بن سعيد: مات بالبصرة سنة اثنتين وأربعين ومائة عن تسع وخمسين سنة.
