مناظرة بَين الْأُسْتَاذ أبي إِسْحَاق الإسفرايني وَالْقَاضِي عبد الْجَبَّار المعتزلي قَالَ عبد الْجَبَّار فِي ابْتِدَاء جُلُوسه للمناظرة سُبْحَانَ من تنزه عَن الْفَحْشَاء فَقَالَ الْأُسْتَاذ مجيبا سُبْحَانَ من لَا يَقع فِي ملكه إِلَّا مَا يَشَاءفَقَالَ عبد الْجَبَّار أفيشاء رَبنَا أَن يعْصى فَقَالَ الْأُسْتَاذ أيعصى رَبنَا قهرا فَقَالَ عبد الْجَبَّار أَفَرَأَيْت إِن مَنَعَنِي الْهدى وَقضى عَليّ بالردى أحسن إِلَيّ أم أسا فَقَالَ الْأُسْتَاذ إِن كَانَ مَنعك مَا هُوَ لَك فقد أسا وَإِن مَنعك مَا هُوَ لَهُ فَيخْتَص برحمته من يشا فَانْقَطع عبد الْجَبَّار
