محمد بن سليمان بن سومر أبو عبد الله الزواوي المنعوت بالجمال قاضي القضاة المالكية بالشام سمع من الحافظ أبي الحسين بن يحيى القرشي وأبي عبد الله محمد بن أبي الفضل المرسي وأبي العباس أحمد بن عمر القرطبي وأبي محمد: عبد العزيز بن عبد السلام. قدم من المغرب سنة خمس وأربعين وستمائة واشتغل بالديار المصرية وحدث وتولى قضاء دمشق ثلاثين سنة وعزل قبل موته بعشرين يوماً. توفي سنة تسع عشرة وسبعمائة.
