    فرج بن سلمة بن زهير البلوي قرطبي المولد أصله من باجة كنيته أبو سعيد سمع من بن لبابة وتفقه معه وسمع من القاضي أسلم وأحمد بن خالد ومحمد بن أيمن وأحمد بن بقي وابن أبي تمام وابن وليد وقاسم بن أصبغ وغيرهم ورحل فسمع بالقيروان من بن اللباد وغيره. كان حافظاً للرأي والفقه على مذهب مالك بصيراً بالمناظرة مشاوراً في الأحكام واستقضي بمواضع وله في الوثائق تأليف حسن. توفي سنة خمس وأربعين وثلاثمائة.
