علي أبو الحسن بن خلف بن بطال البكري يعرف بابن اللجام أصلهم من قرطبة وأخرجتهم الفتنة إلى بلنسية. روى عن الطلمنكي وأبي المطرف القنازعي وأبي الوليد: يونس عن عبد الله القاضي وأبي عمر: عفيف والمهلب بن أبي صفرة. كان من أهل العلم والمعرفة والفهم عني بالحديث العناية التامة وأتقنما قيد منه واستقضي بلورقة وحدث عنه جماعة من العلماء وألف شرح البخاري. توفي سنة تسع وأربعين وأربعمائة. ومن كتاب الصلة:
