عبد الله بن سليمان بن داود بن عمر بن حوط الله الأنصاري الحارثي يكنى أبا محمد كان فقيهاً جليلاً أصولياً نحوياً كاتباً أديباً شاعراً متفنناً في العلوم ورعاً ديناً حافظاً ثبتاً فاضلاً وكان يدرس كتاب سيبويه ومستصفى أبي حامد ويميل إلى الاجتهاد في نظره ويغلب طريقة الظاهرية وولي قضاء إشبيلية وقرطبة ومرسية وسبتة وسلا وميورقة فتظاهر بالعدل. وكان من العلماء العاملين سنياً مجانباً لأهل البدع والأهواء وسمع على بن بشكوال وقرأ أكثر من ستين تأليفاً من كبار وصغار وأكثر عن بن حبيش والسهيلي وابن الفخار وغيرهم واستيفاء مشيخته يطول. توفي سنة ثنتي عشرة وستمائة.
