أحمد بن إدريس البجائي يكنى أبا العباس كان واحد قطره في حفظ مذهب مالك متفنناً في المعارف والعلوم جمع بين العلم الغزير والدين المتين وتخرج بين يديه جماعة من الفضلاء الأئمة - كالإمام عبد الرحمن الوغليسي ونظرائه. وكان يطلق عليه فارش السجاد لكثرة صلاته وكان كثير الصوم والصدقة - أعماله كلها سراً وكان على طريقة السلف الصالح في الاتباعكثير التواضع جميل العشرة صبوراً على الاشتغال حسن التعليم. وله تعليق على بيوع الآجال من مختصر بن الحاجب وغير ذلك. وكانت وفاته بعد الستين وسبعمائة ولم أحقق تاريخ وفاته.
