    أحمد بن أبي الحسن محمد بن عمر بن واجب أبو الخطاب كان رحمه الله تعالى من أعظم الناس عناية بالرواية ولقاء الشيوخ وأجاز له بن العربي والسلفي وابن بشكوال وابن سعيد بن رزقون وأبو عبد الرحيم بن الفرس وابن يوسف بن سعادة وابن حبيش وخلائق وروي عنه. وكان فاضلاً كامل الاشغال بعلم الحديث حافظاً له متسعالرواية حريصاً على الإفادة والاستفادة وافر الحظ من علم العربية والأدب والتاريخ والنسب مع الدين المتين وكان شهير البيت رفيع القدر واستقضي بشاطبة وبلنسية فحمدت فيهما سيرته وعرف بالعدالة وإقامة الحق والصدع به وردع المفسدين وإعلاء المظلوم على الظالم.توفي سنة أربع عشرة وستمائة. ولد سنة خمس وثلاثين وخمسمائة.
