    أحمد بن أحمد بن محمد الأزدي من أهل غرناطة يكنى أبا الحسن ويعرف بابن القصير وهو والد المتقدم ذكره. له إجازة من بن الأصبغ بن سهل. وأبي بكر بن سابق الصقلي وأبي علي الغساني وأبي محمد بن عتاب. روى عنه أبو القاسم بن بشكوال وجماعة من الكبار وكان فقيهاً حافظاً متقدماً في أهل الشورى واستقضي بوادي آش. وتوفي بغرناطة سنة إحدى وثلاثين وخمسمائة رحمه الله تعالى ورضي عنه.
