    ٤٤٦ - قعيب بن المحرز قال (١): لم أجد من ذكره. قلت: صواب اسمه: قعنب بن المحرر، وهو ابن قعنب أبو عمرو الباهلي البصري، ترجم له ابن حبان في "ثقاته" (٢)، وقال: حدثنا عنه جماعة من شيوخنا. وذكره ابن ماكولا في "الإكمال " (٣) وقال: وله "تاريخ". وكذلك قال ابن ناصر الدين الدمشقي في "توضيحه" (٤) لما ترجم له. قلت: وهذا "التاريخ" أكثر الأئمة في النقل عنه كابن جرير الطبري في "تاريخه" (٥)، والخطيب في "تاريخ بغداد" (٦)، والذهبي في "سير أعلام النبلاء" (٧)، وغيرهم كثير. تنبيه: وقع اسم والده في كل من "تاريخ الطبري" و"ثقات" ابن حبان: (محرز) كذا وهو تصحيف، والصواب بالمهملة.
