    ٢٤٣ - صيف، والد يزيد قال (٦): لم أر أحدًا ترجمه. قلت: وصوابه حِنْتِف بكسر الحاء، وسكون النون، وكسر التاء، وما جاء في المجمع هنا تصحيف، واسمه فيه اختلاف. فسماه هكذا البغوي في "معجم الصحابة" -نقلاً عن ابن ماكولا- وكذلك ابن ماكولا في "إكماله" (٧)، والحافظ في "التبصير" (٨). أما ابن سعد في "طبقاته" (٩)، وكذلك أبو يعلى الموصلي (١٠)، والأزدي في "المخزون" (١١) فجاء عندهم حنيف. وقال الأزدي: عمارة بن أحمر لا يروي عنه إلَّا حنيف؛ والد ابن حنيف بن أحمر المازني -كذا جاء في أصل مخطوطته، وأبدل المحقق في الأصلْ، وجعله حنتف، وأشار إلى ذلك في هامشه-.
