    ٧٨ - البراء بن عثمان قال (٦): لم يُعْرف: قلت: وكذا قاله الحسيني في "الإكمال" (٧)، وتعقَّبه الحافظ في "التعجيل" (٨) بقوله: بل هو معروف النسب والرواية، ذكره أبو سعيد بن يونس في "تاريخ مصر" فقال: البراء بن عثمان بن حنيف بن واهب بن عكيم ... وداره بمصر عند عقبة بن فليح معروفة، وساق له الحديث الذي في المسند ... إلخ. قلت: وله ذكر أيضًا في كتاب "فتوح مصر" (٩)، في ذكر من اختط حول المسجد الجامع مع عمرو بن العاص، وروى له حديثه هذا الفسوي في "المعرفة" (١٠). وذكره الحافظ في "اللسان" (١١).
