    مَحْمُود عَرْنُوس (٠٠٠ - ١٣٧٤ هـ = ٠٠٠ - ١٩٥٥ م) محمود بن محمد بن عرنوس: قاض بمحاكم مصر الشرعية، باحث. من أهل القاهرة، ووفاته بها. آخر ما وليه رياسة التفتيش الشرعي بوزارة العدل، ثم كان محاميا شرعيا. نشر أبحاثا مفيدة في بعض المجلات والصحف، وألف (تاريخ القضاء في الإسلام - ط) وهو من النفائس في موضوعة، وشرح (الاكتساب في الرزق المستطاب) للشيباني، ونشره مع الشرح. ونشر كتبا أخرى، منها (الأحكام) للقرافي، و (النزاع والتخاصم) للمقريزي، و (الطرق الحكمية) لابن قيم الجوزية (١) .
