    ٤٠٧ - علي الزيات (١). الشيخ الفقيه الصالح الأصيل الفاضل المتعبد أبو الحسن، حافظ الذهب محصل له متقن مجيد، قرأ بالأندلس واستوطن بجاية وأقرأ بها وانتفع الناس بعلمه ودينه، ثم رحل لحاضرة افريقيا وكان يقرأ عليه كتب المذهب كالتهذيب والرسالة والجلاب والتلقين وغيرها إلى أن توفي بها، يأكل من كد يمينه معرضًا عن خطط الفقهاء، ولو أرادها ما تعذرت عليه -اهـ- من عنوان الدراية. قلت: وهو من شيوخ العارف باللَّه ابن أبي جمرة.
