علي بن الهيصم (كان حيا قبل ٢٨٠ هـ) (٨٩٤ م) علي بن عبد الله بن محمد بن الهيصم الهروي. عالم، اديب، شاعر. قدم بغداد وحدث بها عن عثمان بن سعيد الدارمي، وروى عنه ابو احمد الغطريفي الجرجاني. من تصانيفه الكثيرة: مفتاح البلاغة، نهج الرشاد، عقود الجواهر، النكت، تصفية القلوب، وديوان شعر.
