    عليّ باي الثاني (١٢٣٣ - ١٣٢٠ هـ = ١٨١٧ - ١٩٠٢ م) علي بن حسين بن محمود بن محمد الرشيد، أبو الحسن: باي تونس. مولده ووفاته فيها. ولي إمارتها بعد وفاة أخيه الباي محمد الصادق (سنة ١٢٩٩ هـ وبدأ حكمه بالعفو عن جميع العصاة وردّ أملاكهم إليهم. وكانت الأعمال في أيامه، كلها في أيدي الفرنسيين، فبالغ في مسالمة بالفقه، فصنّف " مناهج التعريف بأصول التكليف - ط " في فقه الحنفية (٢) .
