عثمان بن الضّابط (٣٨٥ - ٤٤٢ هـ) (٩٩٥ - ١٠٥٠ م) عثمان بن ابي بكر بن حمود الصدفي، المعروف بابن الضابط (ابو عمرو) . محدث، اديب، مقرىء، من أهل المغرب. ولد في سفاقس بافريقية، وقرأ بالقيروان، ورحل الى الشرق والاندلس، ثم استقر في القيروان وكان المعز بن باديس ينتدبه لبعض المهمات في الاغراض السياسية، فرحل في احداها يريد القسطنطينية، فانقطع خبره، وتوفي نحو سنة ٤٤٢ هـ. من آثاره: رحلة الى المشرق، عوالي الحديث، والاقتصاد في القراءات السبع.
