عتيق السمنطاري (٠٠٠ - ٤٦٤ هـ) (٠٠٠ - ١٠٧١ م) عتيق بن علي بن داود بن علي بن يحيى التميمي، الصقلي، المالكي، المعروف بالسمنطاري (١) (ابو بكر) . محدث، فقيه، صوفي، اخباري. رحل الى المشرق في طلب الحديث، وسمع باصبهان ابا نعيم الحافظ وغيره، وسمع ببغداد ابا القاسم الازجي وغيره، وتوفي لثمان بقين من ربيع الآخر. من آثاره: اخبار الصالحين، اخبار العلماء، دليل القاصدين، وكتاب الرقائق.
