    عبد الرحمن بن زيدان (١٢٩٠ - ١٣٦٥ هـ) (١٨٧٣ - ١٩٤٦ م) عبد الرحمن بن محمد بن عبد الرحمن بن علي بن زيدان بن اسماعيل الحسني، العلوي، السجلماسي (ابو زيد) . مؤرخ، شاعر. ولد ونشأ بمكناسة الزيتون، واستكمل دراسته في جامعة القرويين بفاس، وولي نقابة الاشراف بمكناس وزرهون، وزار مصر حاجا، واستقر في الدار البيضاء، بديرالمدرسة الحربية المغربية فيها، وتوفي بمكناس من مؤلفاته: اتحاف اعلام الناس بجمال اخبار حاضرة مكناس في خمس مجلدات منه، الدرر الفاخرة لمآثر الملوك العلويين بفاس الزاهرة، ديوان شعر اكثره مدائح نبوية.
