عبد الرحمن بن الحوّات (٠٠٠ - ٤٥٠ هـ) (٠٠٠ - ١٠٥٨ م) عبد الرحمن بن احمد بن خلف، ويعرف بابن الحوات (ابو احمد) فقيه، متكلم، اديب، محدث، من اهل طليطلة. رحل الى المشرق، وتوفي بالمرية قريبا من سنة ٤٥٠ هـ، وفي رواية في المحرم سنة ٤٤٨ هـ وقد اربى على الخمسين. له تواليف وشعر. (ط) ابن بشكوال: الصلة ١: ٣٢٨، الضبي: بغية الملتمس ٣٤٧، ٣٤٨
