    الحسين بن العريف (٠٠٠ - ٣٩٠ هـ) (٠٠٠ - ١٠٠٠ م) الحسين بن الوليد بن نصر المعروف بابن العريف (ابو القاسم) اديب، نحوي، شاعر. أخذ العربية عن ابن القوطية وغيره، ورحل الى المشرق، فأقام بمصر مدة طويلة وسمع فيها من الحافظ ابن رشيق وابي طاهر الذهلي وغيرهما، ثم عاد الى الاندلس، وتوفي بطليطلة. من تصانيفه: شرح كتاب الجمل للزجاج في النحو، وكتاب الردة على ابي جعفر النحاس في كتابه الكافي.
