حسين الشّمّري (٠٠٠ - ١٣٣٤ هـ) (٠٠٠ - ١٩١٦ م) حسين عوني بن عبد الله بن محمد بن احمد الشمري. فاضل عراقي، سكن اجداده بلاد كردستان للمتاجرة، وانحدر والده الى بغداد، فولد بها، وولي القضاء في النجف، وتوفي بالاعظمية عن نحو ٦٠ عاما ودفن بها. له كتب في المنطق والمعاني والبيان والنحو.
