حسين البراقي (١٢٦١ (١) - ١٣٣٢ هـ) (١٨٤٥ - ١٩١٤ م) حسين بن احمد بن الحسين بن اسماعيل بن زيني الحسني، النجفي، المعروف بالسيد حسون البراقي (٢). مؤرخ. ولد بالبراق، وتوفي باللهيبات من قرى الحيرة، ونقل الى النجف فدفن فيه. من تصانيفه الكثيرة (٣) : البقعة البهية في مختصر تاريخ الكوفة الزكية، اليتيمة الغروية في الارض المباركة الزكية في تاريخ النجف، اكبر المقال في مشاهير الرجال، وكشف النقاب في فضل انساب الانجاب. (خ) فهرس المؤلفين بالظاهرية (ط) العاملي: أعيان الشيعة ٢٥: ٤٢ - ٤٦
