    إِلْياس بُقْطُر (١١٩٨ - ١٢٣٦ هـ = ١٧٨٤ - ١٨٢١ م) إلياس بقطر: مترجم عن الفرنسيةوإليها. مصري، قبطي. ولد بأسيوط، ومات بباريس. كان من أعضاء المجمع العلمي المصر الّذي أنشأه الفرنسيون أيام احتلالهم مصر. وخدم جيشهم بالترجمة. وسافر معهم عند رحيلهم، فعين بباريس مدرسا للعربية في المكتية الملكية Bibliothegue de Roy وصنف (قاموس بقطر - ط) عربي فرنسي، مجلدان. وله (مختصر في الصرف - ط) لتعليم التلاميذ بمدرسة اللغات الشرقية في باريس (١) .
