    (٦٩٤) (مد-قيس) بن رافع القيسي الأشجعي أبو رافع ويقال أبو عمرو المصري مدني الأصل. روى عن النبي ﵌ مرسلا وعن ابن عمر وابن عمرو وأبي هريرة وشفي بن مانع. روى عنه الحسن بن ثوبان ويزيد ابن أبي حبيب وإبراهيم بن نشيط والحارث بن يعقوب وعبد الكريم بن الحارث رعياش بن عقبة وابن لهيعة. ذكره ابن حبان في الثقات. قلت. ذكره البغوي في الصحابة وقال يقال إنه جاهلي وذكره أبو موسى في الذيل وقال أورده عبدان في الصحابة. قال وأظن حديثه ليس بمسند إلا أني رأيت بعض أهل الحديث وضعه في المسند فذكرته ليعرف وقال الحسن بن ثوبان دخلت على قيس بن رافع وكان من أهل العلم والستر فذكر خيرا أورده ابن يونس في تاريخه*
