    (٣٤٠) (ت-عبد الرحمن) بن خباب (¬١) السلمي البصري روى عن النبي ﵌ في فضل عثمان حين جهز جيش العسرة. وعنه فرقد أبو طلحة. قال الدوري سئل عنه ابن معين فقال قد روى عن النبي ﵌ قيل له هو ابن خباب بن الأرت قال أحسبه هو. قلت. قال أبو القاسم البغوي لما ذكر حكاية الدوري هذه ليس هو كما ظن أبو زكرياء فإن هذا سلمي كذا روى عن غير وجه ولم يرو عن النبي ﵌ غير هذا الحديث ولما ذكره ابن حبان في الصحابة قال إنه أنصاري فإن صح هذا فهو سلمي بفتح السين*
