رجل أرسل إليه عمر بن عبد العزيز فقال: كيف الحديث الذي حدثتني عن الصنابحي؟ فقال: أخبرني الصنابحي أنه لقي عمرو بن عبسة فقال: هل من حديث عن رسول الله ﷺ لا زيادة فيه ولا نقصان؟ قال: نعم، سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول: من أعتق رقبة أعتق الله بكل عضو منها عضواً منه من النار، ومن رمى بسهم في سبيل الله بلغ أو قصر كان عدل رقبة، ومن شاب شيبة في سبيل الله كان له نوراً يوم القيامة.
