أم مروان بنت مروان بن محمد بن مروان بن الحكم كانت مع أبيها لما خرج من دمشق هارباً إلى مصر، فلما قتل أبوها ألقي رأسه في حجرها، ثم خرجت إلى المغرب مع أخويها عبد الله وعبيد الله، ولقيت ما لقياه من الشدائد، ورجعت إلى العراق وسكنت الحيرة. وقيل: بل أتي بها إلى أبي العباس، فحبست ثم أطلقت. وكانت صابرة على المشي والعطش كصبر الرجال.
