أم محمد بنت عبد الله بن جعفر بن أبي طالب كانت زوج يزيد بن معاوية. خطب يزيد بن معاوية بنت عبد الله بن جعفر ذي الجناحين إلى أبيها، فزوجه، فلما أهديت إليه من المدينة إلى الشام خرج فتلقاها، وأنشأ يقول: من الطويل جاءت بها دهم البغال وشهبها ... مسترة في جوف قر مستر مقابلة بين النبي محمد ... وبين علي والجواد بن جعفر منافية غراء جادت بودها ... لعبد مناف أغر مشهر فلما بلغت أبياته عبد الله بن جعفر قال: ما أراه ينسي نفسه في كل حال.
