يعقوب بن عمر بن قتادة بن النعمان أخو عاصم بن عمر بن قتادة الأنصاري المدني وفد على عمر بن عبد العزيز. قال: قدمت على عمر بن عبد العزيز، فسألني عن عين قتادة بن النعمان، فقلت: رميت يوم الخندق، فقال أناس: وقعت، وقال أناس: بل سالت على خده، وتعلقت بعرق، فجاء بها إلى النبي ﷺ، فتفل عليها، وردها مكانها، وقال: اللهم أكسه الجمال، فقال عمر بن عبد العزيز: من البسيط تلك المكارم لاقعبان من لبن ... شيبا بماءٍ فعادا بعد أبوالا
