    يزيد بن أبي عطاء غير منسوب قال: أظنه غير الذي ذكرناه قبله. حدث يزيد بن أبي عطاء أنه سمع عمر بن عبد العزيز وهو يخطب الناس على المنبر في خلافته يقول: يا أيها الناس، من ألم بذنب فليستغفر الله وليتب إليه، فإنما الهلاك في الإضراب عن الاستغفار، فإني قد علمت أن الله قد وصف في رقاب أقوام خطايا قبل أن يخلقهم، لا بد لهم أن يعملوا بها، فمن ألم بذنب فليستغفر الله، وليتب إليه.
