الهيثم بن خارجة أبو أحمد ويقال: أبو يحيى الخراساني ثم البغدادي حدث عن يحيى بن حمزة بسنده إلى ثوبان قال: قال لي رسول الله ﷺ: أصلح هذا اللحم، فأصلحته. فلم يزل يأكل منه حتى بلغ المدينة. وحدث عن مالك بن أنس بسنده إلى عائشة ﵂ أن النبي ﷺ أفرد للحج. توفي سنة سبع وعشرين - أو ثمان وعشرين - ومئتين. وقيل: سنة تسع وعشرين ومئتين. وكان يتزهد.
