مروان بن الوليد بن عبد الملك ابن مروان بن الحكم بن أبي العاص بن أمية ولي الصائفة في خلافة أبيه الوليد. قال الوليد: وفي سنة ثلاث وتسعين غزا العباس بن الوليد الصائفة اليسرى، وغزا مروان بن الوليد الصائفة الأخرى، وخرج مسلمة من قبل الجزيرة، وبلغ الوليد بن هشام مرج الشحم. قال خليفة: وغزا مروان بن الوليد فبلغ حنجرة، سنة ثلاث وتسعين. قال محمد بن عمر: وفيها - يعني سنة ثلاث وتسعين - توفي مروان بن الوليد. وقال: إن الذي غزا حنجرة مروان بن عبد الملك، فالله أعلم.
