محرز بن حزيب بن مسعود ابن عدي بن هذيم بن عدي بن جناب الكلبي رجل من أفاضل أهل الشام، بعثه يزيد بن معاوية من دمشق مع أهل بيت رسول الله ﷺ حين ردهم من دمشق إلى المدينة قيماً على حفظهم. قال ابن ماكولا: وأما حزيب بضم الحاء المهملة وفتح الزاء زآخره باء معجمة بواحدة، فهو محرز بن حزيب بن مسعود بن عدي بن جناب الكلبي، وهو الذي استنفذ مروان بن الحكم يوم المرج، هو والحراق.
