محمد بن يوسف بن بشر بن النضر ابن مرداس أبو عبد الله الهروي الحافظ الفقيه الشافعي حدث عن العباس بن الوليد بن مزيد بسنده إلى أبي هريرة، قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: " من حسن إسلام المرء تركه ما لا يعنيه ". وحدث محمد بن يوسف بدمشق، عن إسماعيل بن محمد بن يوسف الثقفي، بسنده إلى أبي هريرة قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: " إن أشد الناس عذاباً يوم القيامة عالمٌ لم ينفعه الله بعلمه ". ولد الهروي سنة تسعٍ وعشرين ومئتين، وتوفي سنة ثلاثين وثلاث مئة، وقد جاوز المئة، وكان شيخاً حافظاً للحديث، وكان قد كف بصره.
