محمد بن حويت بن أحمد بن أبي حكيم أبو عبد الرحمن بن أبي سليمان القرشيروى عن أبيه بإسناده إلى أنس أن النبي ﷺ أراد أن يكتب إلى بعض العجم كتاباً فقيل له: إنه لا يكون كتاب إلا بخاتم، فاتخذ خاتماً من فضة، فصه منه، ونقش عليه: محمد رسول الله فلبس الخاتم حياته. فلما توفي لبسه أبو بكر حياته، فلما توفي أبو بكر، لبسه عمر، فلما توفي عمر، لبسه عثمان، فسقط منه في بئر بالمدينة، فطلب، فلم يقدر عليه.
