محمد بن أحمد بن محمد السلمي ابن عبد الله بن هلال بن عبد العزيز بن عبد الكريم بن أبي عبد الرحمن عبد الله بن حبيب أبو بكر السلمي، المعروف بابن الجنبي الاطروش المقرئ قال أبو علي الأهوازي: مات الشيخ الصالح الفاضل المقرئ السلمي المعروف بالجنبي سنة سبع وأربعمائة، وصلى عليه الشريف القاضي أبو عبد الله الحسيني. وذكر عبد العزيز الكتاني وفاته سنة ثمان وأربعمائة، وقال: انتهت إليه الرئاسة في قراءة بن عامر، وقرأ عليه جماعة من أصحاب الأخفش.
