كابس بن ربيعة بن مالك السامي البصري كان يشبه بالنبي ﷺ. استقدمه معاوية بن أبي سفيان، فنظر إليه. قال عباد بن منصور: كان رجل منا يقال له: كابس بن ربيعة يشبه بالنبي ﷺ، فقال قوم من أصحاب رسول الله ﷺ: ما رأينا بعد رسول الله ﷺ أشبه منه، إلا أن رسول الله ﷺ كان أحد حسناً منه - يعني أرق منه رقة حسن.قال أبو نصر بن ماكولا: حسم - بحاء وسين مهملتين -: حسم بن الحارث بن سامة بن لؤي. من ولده: كابس بن ربيعة بن مالك بن عدي بن الأسود بن حسم بن ربيعة.
