عيلان بن زفر بن جبر ابن مروان بن سيف بن يزيد بن شريح بن شقيق أبو الهذام المازني الفقيه، الشافعي، أخو محمد بن زفر عيلان: بالعين المهملة. حدث عن أبي الحسن أحمد بن محمود بن مقاتل الهروي قال: سمعت الربيع بن سليمان يقول: سمعت الشافعي يقول: رأيت في يومٍ واحد بأرض اليمن ثلاث أعجوبات، رأيت حجاماً أعمى مقعداً يعبر الرؤيا؛ ورأيت رجلاً مذبوحاً من قفاه من أذنه إلى أذنه وقد دووي وبرأ، وهو يجيء ويذهب ويذهب، ورأيت حبة تحمل على بعير. شريح بن شقيق ممن على سيدنا رسول الله ﷺ. وتوفي أبو الهيدام سنة ثمانٍ وعشرين وثلاث مئة.
